Akron Zoo’s Spring Break Camp!

For Children 6 to 12 year olds. 
Join us for Akron Zoo’s Spring Break Camp! A week-long camp program while your kids are out of school for Spring Break! Enjoy crafts, games and other educational fun activities as well as animal experience(s), animal encounters and tour the zoo while forming connections to the natural world.
Our Theme is: Feeding Frenzy: Unravel the food web as we discover how every animal in an ecosystem relies on one another. From soaring birds of prey to blooming flowers, all living organisms play a vital role in the environment. Do you know what your role is?

Summer Camps
Click the link of the camp you'd like to register your child for. If registering for multiple camps, a separate registration must be made for each camper. Please select the number of campers who will be attending the same camp. You will need to complete two separate registrations for each. Data does not carry-over between registrations. Once completed, both registrations can be added to your shopping cart.
Akron Zoo member discounts will appear once you are logged in. Please make sure to log in to secure your member-only pricing. We do have a new online system and all guests will need to create a new account if they have not done so already this year.
Camp activities include a t-shirt, a tour of the zoo, a chance to meet zoo staff and animal keepers, fun crafts, awesome activities and up close Animal Encounters!
Campers may be signed up for the camp that reflects their age as of the first day of the camp they wish to attend. Children MUST have completed kindergarten by June 2025 to participate in these camps.
A t-shirt is included with the registration fee of Summer Kids ZooCamps.
(Does not include Family Camp or Jr Keeper). Purchase additional t-shirts for $15 each while supplies last!

One Day Family Camp
June 30, July 1, & 2; 9am–12pm
For Families ages 3 years and up.
Explore the zoo in a new way as a family and join a family camp. Investigate animals up close and discover what you can do at home to help our native wildlife.

Five-Day Camps – Full Day

All Five-Day camps run 9am – 4pm. Campers are encouraged to bring their own reusable water bottle and snack should they need it during the day. Campers are required to bring a packed lunch with them. We will NOT be offering Meal Deals through the Zoo Café. Before Care ONLY is available 8am to 9am.
Ages 6-8 years
Dinotastic:
June 9 – 13 and July 14 – 18, 9am - 4pm
The dinosaurs have arrived at the Akron Zoo! Join us as we explore what their ancient habitats looked like before humans arrived. We will learn what these prehistoric animals acted like and meet some dinosaurs up close as we discover the future of animals in the wild.
Animal Artists:
June 16 – 20 and July 21 – 25, 9am - 4pm
Animals have always been celebrated in different forms of art. From paintings to sculpture to dance and music – we’ll explore all forms of art and make some of our own. – This week is recommended for Campers who love arts & crafts!
Mad Scientists:
June 23 – 27 and July 28 – August 1, 9am - 4pm
Our world is filled with amazing science! Each day our campers will become Mad Scientists completing science experiments and challenges which help us learn more about our natural world. With a little bit of ingenuity, you'll discover just how much the animals can teach us and help us improve our world! While Thomas Edison said invention is 10% inspiration and 90% perspiration, this camp is 100% fun!
Extreme Animals!:
July 7 – 11 and August 4 – 8, 9am - 4pm
Who is the biggest animal at the Zoo? Who is the fastest? The longest? The slowest? Let’s explore the amazing animals at Akron Zoo – to the extreme!!
Ages 9-12 years

Junior Keeper Experience
Thursdays June 12, 19, 26, July 10, 17, 24, 31 & August 7
9am -12pm or 1pm - 4pm
Ever wonder what it is like to be a zookeeper? This program offers teens the chance to work with our keepers in non-dangerous animal areas. For this special half-day program, join us either in the morning or afternoon and see firsthand what a zookeeper does.
Limit 4 participants per session. For safety reasons, proper attire and closed toed shoes MUST be worn.
