#GivingZOODay, in partnership with #GivingTuesday, is a global day of giving that follows Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday. This day is dedicated to giving back after days of shopping and saving money.
Big and small we care for them all...
...Because of your support!
Your generous support enables us to provide exceptional care for all the animals at the Akron Zoo. Our dedicated team of veterinarians and animal care professionals work tirelessly to meet the unique needs of every animal, whether big or small, young or old. You contributions help us care for more than 2,000 animals from around the world, ensuring that each one receives the specialized attention they deserve.
On this #GivingZooDay, we’d like to take this opportunity to share a few of these animal care stories with you!
Reading a Lion's Blood Pressure
Our 19 year old African lion works with our animal care and veterinary staff to have some important tests done, a major accomplishment.
Training a Gibbon for Vaccination Injections.
Training a gibbon to take voluntary injections is a team effort and takes months of dedication.
A Trumpeter Swan's Journey
Due to an injury in her native habitat, Sakari finds a new home in Akron.
Summer and Debra
When Summer the groundhog declares you as her best friend, there is nothing Debra Swank could do but fall fast for her new BFF.
To hear the full stories on all of these animals, make sure to check out our Facebook or Instagram pages on #GivingZooDay on Thursday, Nov. 21!
With your support, we can continue to provide care for all of our animal best friends, including Chloe, Forest, Chi Chi and Summer!
