Roar behind the scenes with our lions or schedule an animal encounter with one of our animal ambassadors! Take a train or carousel ride and see new places with our virtual reality experiences. You choose your level of zooventure parties here at the Akron Zoo!

Our party packages are self-led and allow you to fully customize your child's experience. Book today and take advantage of all that the Akron Zoo has to offer! Simply choose your party package and then customize the experience to meet your needs and budget. To get started, please complete the birthday party request form below.

Parties must be booked at least 2 weeks in advance and are available for children ages 12 and younger.

Level Up Your Experience with Birthday Party Add-Ons!

Face Painting Experience ($105 plus tax)
If purchased, a skilled artisan will hand-paint a colorful, theatre quality character of each child's choice on-site in your pavilion. This experience includes one face painting per child for parties of 15 or less children. If the party includes more than 15 children additional fees apply.

Face painting must be scheduled at least 2 weeks before your event.
Animal Encounter ($75)
Encounters last roughly 20 minutes and include live animals from our animal ambassdor program. Encounters may be with mammals, lizards, birds, amphibians, snakes, turtles or tortoises. We cannot guarantee a specific animal will be available due to staffing and weather conditions.

Animal encounters must be scheduled at least 2 weeks before your event.
Behind the Scenes Lions Tour ($75 for parties of 30 or less)
Get an up-close look at our lion's night yard and discover the dedicated care and conservation efforts that go into ensuring their well-being.

Behind the Scenes Lion Tours must be scheduled at least 2 weeks before your event.
Meet-and-Greet with Potter the Otter ($50)
Have the lovable and fuzzy Potter the Otter character mascot make a surprise visit to your birthday party for photos and a round of Potter's favorite party game, "Potter Says."

Potter must be scheduled at least 2 weeks before your event and is subject to availability.
Care for A Critter Birthday Gift ($55)
This unique birthday gift lasts all year and helps provide food, medical care and habitat maintenance for Akron Zoo’s animals. Your gift package will include an official certificate of adoption and your child’s favorite animal as a plush!
Unlimited Carousel and Train Rides ($8 per person)
Conservation Carousel features 33 hand-carved wooden animals and the Pride of Africa train depot allows a unique look at our African lions.
Goat Feeding Experience ($20)
Get up close and say hello the goats in our African boma. This experience includes 20 crackers to share among your guests.
Virtual Reality Experience ($6 per person)
Undersea Explorer takes adventurers on a five-minute immersive shark encounter with Immotion VR and motion base seats. Participants must be 40” tall to experience this virtual reality attraction.

Birthday Gift Upgrade Options:

The standard birthday gift includes a drawstring branded Akron Zoo bag, a small zoo themed grab bag of toys, an animal themed bracelet, an Akron Zoo souvenir cup and a mini animal plush (animals are subject to change based on availability) that fits inside the cup.

6" plush (red panda): $5 upgrade
7" plush (tiger): $12 upgrade
