Pathways
The pathways at your Akron Zoo are ADA accessible. In addition, we have tried to make most habitats easy to view from any vantage point.
After leaving Legends of the Wild and entering the rest of the zoo, take the pathway in Wild Asia, to the right of the Carousel. This is the more accessible pathway to get up the hill and enjoy the rest of the zoo. This route includes a switch-back walkway with a very low grade making it very easy to navigate.
Rides
The Conservation Carousel and Pride of Africa trains are ADA accessible.
Service Dog Policy
The Akron Zoo is committed to welcoming all visitors and complies with ADA Title III regulations regarding service animals. Therapy or emotional support animals are not permitted in the zoo.
As stated in the ADA Title III regulations, service animals may be excluded if their presence alters the nature of the zoo’s services or if the animal is out of the owner’s control. If a service animal is excluded, the owner will be able to visit without the service animal.
*If your service dog is showing signs of respiratory illness, please consider delaying your visit to the Akron Zoo until they have fully recovered. Thank you for helping us protect our canine species!
